This page took me longer than I think it should have, and I'm not 100% sure why. I think it was several little things adding up, but again, not 100% sure.
This page did get delayed from a Wednesday to a Friday, and while that's not good, I'm definitely glad I didn't try to stay up to finish it. I would've been writing this commentary while watching the sunrise if I hadn't (if I was lucky).
Dinner over already?
Part of me wanted to show more of the dinner, but that part of me was only concerned with making the dinner longer. There's nothing more I actually wanted, or needed, to show during that dinner. I'd be doing filler improv just so I could say it lasted more than a page.
Besides Lavender will return in... Is it still cool to make "return in The Avengers" jokes in 2023? It's not? Drat.
Well, she'll be back, and at times when she'll be more free to do and say things than in the restaurant.
More Stimming
I have a long history of accidentally giving characters "neurodivergent traits" as result of them just being "naturally relatable traits" to me.
Now that I'm actually aware of that (well, MORE aware), I might address such things in ways that are ACTUALLY INTENTIONAL from time to time.
Y'know, instead of writing something semi-autobiographical like Tedd in One Way Road, the storyline in which Tedd's over-focus on SCIENCE! is causing some relationship tension with Grace, and having NO IDEA that anything in it could be interpreted as evidence of ADHD and/or autism.
