It's possible George doesn't normally hang out with a lot of people outside of the comic shop.
Larry's wound up wearing more of his heart on his sleeves, which I like. It works with him giving far less of a carp of projecting a certain persona than he used to (which is good, given his prior attempts at projecting such a persona).
Meanwhile, Rich is... Well, it's preferable to what he WAS doing, at least, and maybe a start towards something better.
