As fun as it is for there to be a mystery "what the heck even" with the Dunkels, I've been wanted to reveal this specific detail for a while.
Of course, the fact that it's fun is why there's that "ten years" mention. This is a big piece, but not a finished puzzle.
Incidentally, Nanase hasn't left. She's just being very considerate about how many people I have to draw—I mean, the limited space in the front entrance, and is waiting upstairs.
