Wizard Hope
I considered several different options for Hope to be wearing in this visualization of their game, but no.
It 100% had to be her dressing up like Sarah (except a bit more modest in some ways because Hope's wearing it).
Nerdy Card Talk
I've based other decks on decks I've played in actual card games, with inspiration coming from strategies I myself have fond memories of (or bad memories of playing against).
Hope's deck, however, is the exception. It is based entirely around a card that's inspired by its narrative purpose. It could be made to exist in actual card games (and for all I know, it does in some form), but it doesn't take direct inspiration from any.
This has had a ripple effect in which every other card she uses is designed to complement it in some way.
With that in mind, whatever the heck Hope hopes to do, gaining life is complementary to it in some way.
Persistent Healer is the result of me wanting to provide a basic life gain effect without just copying something I'm aware of, and basically making it an "okay" card.
1 life is 5% of the starting life total of 20, so 1 EVERY player's turn isn't terrible. She just also can't deal any damage in combat, there's no natural way to increase that amount of life gain she provides per turn, and she can't take a hit when defending (I assure you those are issues).
