The moment when you're your own counterspell

Susan, unaware of her own incredible power-via-flashback powers, successfully countered Rich's misinterpretation of her intentions.

She has thus achieved overpowered protagonist status, and debates about her power-scaling may begin.

You might think she'll lose to the overpowered character you're thinking of having challenge her, but that's where you're wrong. That other character will have a flashback that prevents the fight from even happening, and Susan, having unknowingly caused the flashback, shall naturally be considered the victor.
