I know a reference to a couple pages ago might be a bit much, but Jay didn't openly declare "I want to know what Susan knows about me," and when this was new, that was a whole week ago. A quick reminder of why the heck she even wants to talk to Susan felt appropriate.

Jack

"Jack" is a callback to the EGSNP storyline Parable. Jay met Susan in their shared dream, but Jay was aware it was a dream, and gave Susan a fake name. She nearly said "Jay," but shifted into saying "Jack".

As for why Grace is making that face in the last panel, the reason probably isn't what you think!

I'm guessing. I don't know what you're thinking. It's entirely possible you guessed it exactly.

How it goes sometimes

Me: "Using the 3D model I made myself, I'm going to carefully determine EXACTLY what the background should be in panel two!"
