To be fair, "lying would be a declaration of war against every other person in my species AND they'd all know about it" is a pretty good answer to "how do I know you're telling the truth."
Anyway, this is the part of the story in which a lot of what's being said will make a loooooot more sense later. It's fun on a bun!
