"Whoa, shouting, what was that?"

"I-I don't know, I'm sorry! I guess I'm just very excited? Really, I don't know where that came from."

Tedd's going to do a science with the help of others, and look really cool while declaring the intent to do so! And if you don't think Tedd looks cool? Well, that's valid, at least one character agrees with you, and the declaration is sort of dorky, but I hold that it could have been MUCH DORKIER!

Past me imagined Tedd making the declaration without the thoughts that precede it in the final version. With those thoughts, I argue it sounds like Tedd has an actual idea of what to do. Without those thoughts, I think Tedd would sound like a kid declaring they were going to figure out cold fusion.
