News for January 2010:

Monday, Jan 25, 2010 I've decided, for at least this week, to do Tues and Thurs Q&A comics (posted on the front page), and Weds and Fri NP comics this week. This is in part to accommodate SCIENCE! and simply because I prefer to space out updates and I'm closer to finishing the first Q&A than the next NP.
I'm using new techniques for making the comics that really do speed things up (like, by a RIDICULOUS amount). There are some speed bumps in the form of experimentation, but this is not only the biggest single visual jump EGS has had, it's the first that has also dramatically reduced long-term production time. I don't know what this will eventually mean for the update schedule, but it can only be good things. |

Thursday, Jan 21, 2010 Today marks the eighth anniversary of EGS! WHOO! I haven't done anything special for it that isn't a complete coincidence, but here we are: today marks the end of the Sister two story arc. WOOT!
Also note that there isn't an NP posted at the time of this news post, but there will be one later today. I thunk up a follow up to the previous NP and it needs to follow the last one for obvious reasons, and I've been busy with the latest story comic... which is an excellent segue to the next paragraph!
I'm still deciding what exactly I will be doing between now and the next storyline. I want to have a certain number of pages done before I post a single page of it, so there will be something between this and that.
One of the options I'm considering is another Q&A with Amanda and Lisa, so if you want to see that, send in your questions. If I get enough ones I want to answer, that's what I'll do. Please note that EGS:NP just had a series of TF question comics, so I'd hope to focus more on plot and character questions than generic transformation-specific ones. Questions about magic, Elliot's abilities and stuff like that could be okay, but general transformation stuff such as has been recently addressed in EGS:NP is more likely to be addressed via additional NP comic. |

Thursday, Jan 14, 2010 I will post the next EGS:NP sometime either later today or tomorrow. The latest story comic took longer than expected and I have prior obligations for Thursday, so I hope to get the NP done before I have to head out. |

Monday, Jan 11, 2010 This post is both about ads on the site and the schedule.
Ad Feeds
I'm going to be trying out and applying for various alternative ad feeds for the site, though the tall side ad will remain PW for now. I'm sticking to feeds I've seen on other comic sites that allow filtering options, most important of which being the option to only have ads the services directly approve. I won't be approving the ads myself in advance, though, so if an annoying ad does get through (such as "you are a winnah!" crap), contact me and let me know.
While I prefer the PW system that allows me to approve the ads in advance, it's an unfortunate truth that they don't generate enough revenue on their own. It is my hope that, if done right, the automated ad systems will deliver relevant ads that people here might actually like seeing while providing income that will help keep EGS comic creation going for years to come.
Schedule
Sister 2 is ridiculously close to being done. Closer than I expected, actually. It makes me want to double check my notes to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. In any case, I'm shooting for Thursday at the latest for the next story comic. As I've mentioned in my blog, however, I'm going to be adopting a genuine work schedule for EGS and related projects, so I'm hoping to step things up a notch around here. |

Thursday, Jan 7, 2010 I will be posting the next EGS:NP sometime during the day on account of how messed up today wound up being productivity-wise. In the mean time, there is the new story comic, and a blog entry made in the interest of increasing future productivity. |

Tuesday, Jan 5, 2010 The next story comics will be on Wednesday and Friday, and I will decide on a regular schedule as a goal for after this week. I want the next storyline to be started before January is over, so don't cut me any slack when it comes to updates. The holidays are over with and things are getting back to normal, so there's no excuses. It's time to bring on the comics.
In other news, I have a blog now, and here's a link to the first post in it. Thus far, it has some generic stuff, a review of the latest Family Guy Star Wars parody, and a rant about the Star Trek DVD packaging that will likely be used as proof of my insanity some day. This will hopefully keep me from drowning Twitter and give me a place to comment on things that I can't squeeze onto this site via EGS:NP comickery. |
