It occurs to me that cell phone reception might not be good in those woods, and maybe that would be a reason to use the watches. That raises the question of why the watches work super rad when cell phones don't, but they were invented by Doctor Germahn, so one really shouldn't question it. His inventions just sorta work, darn it.
