Actually, this is a pretty good strategy for avoiding a topic of conversation and I recommend it to everyone.
“Dan, did you eat all the cookies?”
You called me Dan.
“Huh? Um, well, yeah. That’s your name. Now about those cookies…”
I want you to call me Dan, and nothing else.
“I’m about to call you a cookie eating jackass, you jackass.”
Okay, maybe it doesn’t work that well.
