Diane doesn't like mental manipulation magic, but she still seemed like the best choice for panel three. She's like a chef who hates sweets but makes excellent desserts.
I see transformation abilities as a "jack of all trades, master of none" sort of thing, at least as presented here. The transformation wizard can effectively dip into both mental and summoning territory, but if they're not careful, they'll get caught up in the aftermath of their own spell.
And I think that's fun! It would be a class of skills that can be summed up with "sort of do everything the other classes can do, BUT..."
And this wouldn't be limited to getting yourself attacked by your own "summoned" bear, as we will get to.
