There are things I find weirdly upsetting, and one of them is people's food getting cold before they've even had their first bite.
A terrible monster attack? Sure, fine. Their hot dogs getting cold? OH NO!
Which was, and I'm being quite serious here, one of the reasons why past me was tempted to rush Rhoda and Catalina getting back to Lucy and Diane, and nearly skipping any indication whatsoever of Catalina clarifying to Rhoda that she did not share this particular detail with Lucy (after having said she told Lucy everything Rhoda had said).
Granted, that wasn't the only reason I nearly skipped a moment like this. I wanted to get to something else, I worry about pacing and I technically already revealed what Catalina could clarify to straighten things out with Rhoda, etc.
But to pretend the hot dogs weren't a factor in my decision making would be LYING.
That said, the "technically already revealed" was a considerable factor. Part of me was thinking "well, that's clearly what Catalina would have clarified, right? They could just show back up again."
In retrospect, no. Even if people could reasonably assume that, it's worth confirming it. It keeps everyone on the same page, it makes things easier to follow when the comics are new, and it would've felt like a moment was missing even if everyone got it.
Also, I like Catalina's enthusiasm building momentum too quickly as an explanation for some of her less-advised behavior, so I'm glad that's there.
AND! Them just showing back up again would be a little weird. I know I've gone minimalist on the backgrounds, so maybe only I would notice, but for them to show up right after Camdin and pal left would either have had them walking right into each other, or Rhoda and Catalina would have to have returned from the opposite direction that makes sense in my head.
(To clarify, based on the layout in my head, the latter would have implied that Rhoda immediately did a u-turn after fleeing from Lucy, and went out a back door or something).
