Even Ashley reacts to magical stuff happening with startled surprise sometimes. Liz, on the other hand...
As far as I’m concerned, this as good as confirms Hanma as canon. This moment is non-canon, but the entire gag depends on it being blatantly obvious that Ashley and/or Liz actually have met Hanma in a canon moment before.
Of course, I believe that everything not right there in a canon story is open to interpretation (a “you want it canon, actually put it in there” philosophy), but my personal standard for what is official EGS canon is satisfied. Hanma the character is canon.
