Name-based magic affinity: Now canon for all your "the guy with wolf in their name is a werewolf" or whatever logic.
Granted, this is El Goonish Shive. There WILL be elaboration. Not exactly diffcult to guess what the basic implication here is, however. What might be a little trickier to predict is why Pandora isn't a fan of it.
