No one expects the Mrs. Kitsune and Akiko cameo!
This comic ran into two production compications. One, the morning I intended to put it all together, I woke up with a back angry with the world and out to take everyone down with it, but only the capacity to take me down for a bit. Two, I wasn't happy with what I'd originally written, and decided to change it up a bit.
(No joke is missing; Something Hanma would have said in this comic will instead be said later)
But yes, here is a bit more insight into the game itself, and various things Rhoda can do. Did she actually make Mrs. Kitsune younger? Does she just look that way? If actually younger, what are the ramifications of magic that can make people younger? Must we now ask deep philosophical questions about immortality and the direction of human society as a whole in this world in which none need grow old?
Heck if I know, but hey, we know you "buy" spaces and get points via transformation in the board game, hence the incentive for transformation within the game itself, and that's neat, right?
And yes, the game does have some common ground with Monopoly in that you're acquiring ownership of spaces. It plays very differently, but someone pointing that out is inevitable, so may as well mention it myself.
