Panel three didn't originally have Ashley apologizing, but she's right, it does sound harsh. Emphasis on SOUNDS harsh, because she's clearly pumped full of adrenaline, is doing the best she can to chill, and is telling Elliot how they can help her do that.

And yes, that is the correct interpretation authorial intent is law who has ever told you otherwise
