To me, this is a very "Wednesday" comic. Something has been brought up that's potentially a big deal, but it's not the note the page ends on. Instead, it's set up for the next page, which is a Friday comic. Will that Friday comic be a Friday comic in both timing and cliffhanger last panel-ness right before a weekend?
Only Friday can tell.
