I considered Grace swooping in like an accidental wrecking ball of empathy a much better note to leave off on before the Thanksgiving break (Thanksgiving in the US being why I'm taking Friday and Saturday off).

Hopefully what Grace notes here will not be applicable at any gatherings related to turkeys tomorrow, but it's worth keeping in mind, at least.

I wanted Grace to trigger feelings of empathy in Diane, but I didn't want her to just walk up to Diane and inexplicably be like "consider the feelings of that jerk I know nothing about!"

So instead, Grace sort of advocates considering the other person's feelings, but it's with the intent of countering anything bad they might have said about Diane.
