Susan has some issues with physical contact, but she doesn't WANT to have issues with physical contact. She might not imagine herself directly involved in "things", but cuddles?

Cuddles are goals.

What exactly are we subverting, here?

The subversion in this page is a little weird as it's less a subversion of expectations for Susan, and more a subversion of just general expectations for most people? And it sort of presents it as a joke, and yet this is pretty sincere?

I'm just saying, the actual big romantic moment in a romance isn't the smooch. It's when the characters are totally honest and open with themselves and each other.
